My Rottweiler 'Storm'
Dealing with
Lymphoma

Submitted by Diane Sacripanti on May 23, 2003

My wonderful heart companion Storm died on December 27, 2002 at 4 a.m. Storm entered my life when she was 8 weeks old.  She was my first Rottie companion and the love I had for her gave me the courage and strength to start North Carolina Rottweiler Rescue.  I had no idea my Storm would be taken away from me at age 7 of a terrible terrible disease, lymphoma.  She was diagnosed on December 18, 2002 and died on December 27, 2002.

Prior to the diagnosis she had a blood transfusion due to the vet thinking she was anemic, had several sonograms done and finally a bone marrow confirmed lymphoma.  We decided to try chemotherapy because the vet specialist said it has a good chance of helping her go into remission but it did not work.  She was completed consumed by the cancer.

She died of heart failure complicated from the chemo alone at the vet hospital.  I wanted so much to be with her when she left.  I can't wait to meet my girl again and will wait patiently for the day when we will be together again.  My life will never be the same without her.
