My
Rottweiler 'Gunnar'
Dealing with Lymphoma
Submitted

Gunnar
didn't have any titles. He was a family
member, one of my children. I bought him
as a 10-week old puppy, he was the runt
that nobody wanted. My nickname for him
was "Fat-Fat-Fatty", because he
wasn't. He was my baby boy even though he
was over ten years old when I had to make
the excruciating decision to have him put
to sleep. He had battled lymphoma for 7
months through two bouts of chemotherapy,
only to get a very short remission. On
July 25th, 2003, Dr. Patterson, his vet
whom he loved, put him to sleep in his own
home, in his favorite spot, surrounded by
the people he loved and who loved him. My
heart broke that day and will never
completely mend. There aren't words for me
to describe him to you. He was special in
every way.
| Smart, strong,
handsome, gentle, loving, devoted and
protective of his family and home. I miss
him so much. We all do. He was
owned, greatly loved, and is very much
missed by Sandi, Michael, Blake, Justin,
Ethan and Kacie Wallace. |
