SHARED REAL STORIES

It was a short 10 hours ago when we had to put our Emmy down.  My wife and two daughters, one son-in-law and our other dog Joe were with her when she passed.

This past February we had her right front leg amputated due to cancer. She slowly gained strength, and was quite active. Then about three weeks ago I noticed a lump on her right side where the amputation was. Over the next week it progressively got bigger.

My wife and daughter took her to the vet, an x-ray was done and there was 5 large tumors in her chest. We decided to bring her home make her comfortable for as long as we could. The last 3 days she really went down hill fast. She had just had her 8th birthday on May 3, 2010.

I would have to say she by far was the smartest, and most loving dog i have had. She was very protective of the family, yet very loving of our friends when they came to visit. We have had so many laughs with Emmy over the years. She was truly an awesome dog, and will be sorely missed. We did opt to have her cremated. So her ashes should be coming home soon.
