My
Rottweiler 'Cocoa'
Dealing with CancerSubmitted
by the Andersons on February 10, 2005
I just
read your story about Maverick, the Rottweiler
diagnosed with cancer. My Rottweiler, Cocoa, 4
years old, has just been diagnosed with cancer
today. My vet gave him six weeks to live. We
also chose against the chemotherapy because we
want Cocoa as comfortable as he can be. Cocoa
has just been prescribed prednisone
today. We started giving him two pills a
day for a week, then we give him one pill a
day there after. I am wondering what this
garlic pill and cleansing pill are and where
can I find it?

We also have
Cocoa's sister and father and
have seen no signs in the other
two Rottweilers. Cocoa was very
sick before we took him to the
vet. He didn't want to
move without taking aspirin and
his face swelled up terribly.
The vet prescribed Cocoa Keflex
for the swelling in his face.
Cocoa has been taking Keflex for
three days now and has lost all
swelling in his face. His lymph
nodes though are all still very
swollen.
If we did
not know that Cocoa has cancer
you would never know, he is back
to himself playing, running,
jumping, barking -- all of the
things Cocoa loves to do. We all
love Cocoa very much and want to
keep him around for as long as
we can.
