New Veterinary Reporting Process from OFA
(from May/June 2007 OFA E-News)

In an effort to cope with ever increasing costs, as a not-for-profit foundation the OFA must continually identify and implement new efficiencies in order to maintain our current fee structure and continue our level of financial contributions to canine health research. With the upcoming postal rate increase, the OFA has found it necessary to modify the reporting process back to the attending veterinary clinics. We will no longer be printing and mailing individual results. Instead, summary reports containing multiple dogs will be used to periodically report back results. Only normal dogs will be reported in this manner.

Dysplastic dogs will continue to be reported back to the attending clinic individually with the diagnostic findings. For high OFA volume clinics, these reports will be generated as often as weekly. For low volume clinics, the reporting will be monthly at a minimum. We appreciate everyone’s understanding in implementing this change.
